The journey from Krabi International Airport to Koh Jum has two parts:
- Journey by road from the airport to the boat pier.
- Sea crossing from the mainland to Koh Jum.
Location of Krabi International Airport:
It is possible to travel independently from Krabi International Airport to Koh Jum by taking a taxi from the airport to Laem Kruat Pier and then taking one of the scheduled boat services to Koh Jum. There are, however, two downsides to travelling independently, particularly for small groups:
- A taxi from Krabi International Airport to Laem Kruat Pier costs 900 to 1,000 THB (more if you don’t book in advance). That’s relatively expensive for anyone travelling alone or in a group of two.
- You can’t guarantee the length of the waiting time between your arrival at the pier and the departure of the next scheduled boat service. At certain times of the day, or times of year, it may be necessary for solo travellers or couple to pay to hire the entire boat, which again can be relatively expensive.
