The first stage of the journey from Koh Lanta to Phuket International Airport is by speed boat. The journey by speed boat to Phuket is scheduled to take 1 hour 15 minutes to cover a distance of just over 70 km. In practice it may take a bit longer and the scheduled arrive time takes account of this. The speed boats are large with seating for 40 to 50 people. They have a toilet near the front of the boat but little space to move around during the journey.

The speed boat docks into Rassada Pier, which is in the south of Phuket not far from Phuket Town. The second stage of the journey is by minivan from the pier to Phuket International Airport. The distance by road is 34 km which should take about 1 hour 15 minutes.
