After being picked up ar their hotel passengers on the King Travel service to Trang Airport are taken to Koh Muk Pier, which is on the north east of the island in the main village where the majority of the resorts are located.
- Location of Koh Muk Pier:
From Koh Muk Pier the two companies travel by different routes to Trang Airport using different types of boats. The Tigerline Travel service is by speed boat which docks into Hat Yao Pier on the mainland. The advantage of using this service, which is more expensive than the King Travel service, is that it is a more reliable service as the Tigerline Travel speed boat can still travel when there are moderately large waves at sea and the King Travel service cannot.
- Location of Hat Yao Pier:
The King Travel service uses a wooden longtail boat which travels to the closest pier to Koh Muk, which is Khuan Tung Ku Pier. Khuan Tung Ku Pier is only 6 km by sea from Koh Muk and the journey takes from 30 to 40 minutes. In good weather the ride in the King Travel wooden boat is a far more pleasant experience than the journey in the Tigerline Travel speed boat. The King Travel wooden boat has a fabric roof which is an effective sunshade, and partially effective when it comes to stopping rain.

For the second stage of the journey both services use a minivan to transport passengers by road to Trang Airport. The distance by road from Hat Yao Pier and Khuan Tung Ku Pier is almost exactly the same:
