Donsak Seatran Ferry Pier is located about 65 km by road to the east of Surat Thani City in an area where there are 2 other ferry piers with scheduled passenger ferry services, but very few hotels, shops and restaurants. Public transport in Donsak is also limited, with nearly all scheduled bus and minivan services either arriving into, or departing from, one of these 3 public piers.

There is a large and fairly modern ferry terminal building at Donsak Seatran Ferry Pier. In order to board a ferry passengers need to pass through the ticket gates inside the terminal building. Foot passenger access to ferries is via the waiting area behind the ticket gates.
